ON May 21, 70 boys and girls from St Joseph's, Aberdeen, travelled to Muswellbrook H.S. to compete in the Upper Hunter Music and Bands Eisteddfod.

Students competed in 13 events and gained awards in 11 sections, with the concert band winning its category.

Students in the school's art department have also enjoyed many successes in competitions including Belltrees Art Competition, during Scone Horse Week, and Operation Art.

Katrina Constable, from Year 8, was persuaded by the school's art teachers Nina Dadswell and Sarah Harvey to put an entry in the Lions' Club Peace Poster Competition.

Katrina's picture won first prize locally and at district, state and national levels. She went on to international level and won a merit certificate, plus US$500.
