UPPER Hunter Shire Council's rejection of a controversial development involving Segenhoe Stud, near Aberdeen, is the subject of an appeal in the NSW Land and Environment Court.

Segenhoe Properties failed in its application to develop a subdivision near the stud after the council's development and environment committee recommended approval.

Segenhoe Properties head Michael Sissian's legal representative, Michael Hallet, said an appeal had been lodged and declined to comment further.
